What’s it do?

Wonderopolis is a site where students can explore and learn about the everyday wonders that pop into their heads. Why is the sky blue? What is Stonehenge? Why do bees sting?

Basic Features

91 categories of wonders

Each wonder includes
Did you know? – Information about the wonder
Try it out! – Activities to learn more about the wonder
Wonder Words – Vocabulary words
Still Wondering? – Discussion about the wonder
Wonder What’s Next? – Preview of another wonder
Photos/Videos – visuals

How do you see it being used by an educator or student?

We can see Wonderopolis easily becoming a resource in an upper elementary classroom for non-fiction reading. Also when students come up with questions  during a KWL activity we could see the teacher or students suggesting “Let’s check Wonderopolis.”

Wonderopolis might also be worked into the class schedule as a daily opening activity to get into learning mode or if your school does daily or weekly announcements you can work in a wonder for whole school wonders.
