Summer Ed: Three Free Ways Google Can Teach You, and Your Students, To Program!

I heard a story on NPR the other day that caught my attention.  The gist of the story was that despite the increase in demand for quality programers in the Seattle area computer science majors graduating from Washington University has remained basically unchanged since 1999.  WHAT?!?!  Are you as shocked as I was?

Here are three free ways Google is helping to pump up everyone’s programming skills:

1.  Learn.

3.  Practice, practice, practice.

Google truly sees the importance in teaching students how to code and has an initiative called Computer Science For High School (CS4HS).  This initiative helps fund local school and universitity programs that teach and promote computer science; check out what they are doing near you:
